I collected this large piece of driftwood from the south side of the island after a big winter swell.

I wanted to choose an epic subject to paint on it, and of course had to go for The Needles. This piece of wood has so much natural texture which adds to the movement of the sea in the painting as the waves crash against the cliffs.
